Pathwork
VLUAN uses Pathwork — an AI platform purpose-built for the distribution side of life and health insurance — to help structure case data, surface predictive ratings, and accelerate underwriting analysis. Per Pathwork's published privacy policy, Pathwork implements security measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, including encryption, firewalls, and secure socket layer technology.

End-to-end protection
Files stay protected, whether they're at rest or in transit. ShareFile uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) and up to 256-bit encryption — one of the most secure encryption algorithms available today — to safeguard your data.
Secure link generation
Each ShareFile download link is randomly generated using strong hash-based message authentication codes (HMAC) and a secret key to protect data in transit and prevent tampering. Technical countermeasures block bad actors from guessing codes.
Data access control
Control who has access to sensitive files while securely sharing documents. User authentication prevents unauthorized access to your data and documents.
Certified cloud storage
ShareFile uses cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, with SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 certified data centers — designed to meet strict standards for protecting sensitive information like PHI. Additional measures include securely configured firewalls, redundant storage, and file backup.
Legally-binding e-signatures
ShareFile's e-signature technology is designed to address the requirements for enforceable electronic signatures under both the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA).
AI-assisted underwriting
Case data is processed through Pathwork to structure intake, surface predictive ratings, and accelerate triage. Final underwriting judgment remains with the advocate; AI output is a working tool, not a binding offer.
VLUAN access & audit
Inside VLUAN, every record is gated by row-level access policies, and document uploads, views, downloads, and deletions are written to an audit log for review and incident response.
